ARTIST, EDUCATOR, AND AVID DAYDREAMER WHO IS HELL-BENT ON TEACHING OTHERS HOW TO FIND WHAT SET'S THEIR SOUL ON FIRE (THE SPARK)
Welcome! If you made it this far you must be interested in getting to know me a little more, so let's dig in. I am a born-and-raised Minnesotan (hold the o), artist, art educator, and all around badass currently living my best life.
My life has been a creative journey filled with many art explorations and crafting adventures. I dabbled in everything I could get my hands on but never REALLY found my niche. No lie, I searched high and low for damn near 30 years. BUT somehow I stumbled into the best adventure of my life and I have been able to build my art business to share my art and serve clients from all over the world.
Deep down, I have always known I was born to create, educate, and bring joy to others through art. Creating full-time has been a dream I’ve always wanted to chase. I’m at a point in my life where I’m ready to pursue my dream and use my professional experience to educate and spark joy in others.
I wasn't always living my best life...
So, what do I do exactly?
My ultimate goal and job is to serve you. Whether it's through my art *who doesn't love an extra bit of sparkle on their walls?* or through my Patreon page, YouTube tutorials, online courses, or private workshops... I'm here to bring joy into your life and your space.
While this is a business and I do sell things, I also offer free content to artists, creatives and hobbyists looking to get started with alcohol ink. If you haven't checked out my blog, Facebook group, or YouTube channel... get with the program and subscribe today!
Why do I love to teach?
Easy, I have spent most of my childhood and adult career teaching. It's what I love to do, and now I get to teach content that excites me. I find joy in teaching others how to paint with alcohol ink. I get a thrill out of help others connect with a medium that has brought so much joy and magic into my life.
What are my professional tips?
Have fun! It's not worth doing it if you're not having fun. Life is too short to spend your time angry, frustrated, and upset. If something isn't working keep trying! I did not become the artist I am today overnight. Give your self some grace and room for growth.
Practice every day. Again, I did not become the artist I am today with out a bit of practice ;) My early work was not as good as my work is today, that is the case with almost everything in life. Most of us are not great at something right out of the gate.
Find your own personal style. It's great to look to other artists for inspiration but try to find your signature style. My style focuses on heavy texture, contrast, composition, color theory, and a WHOLE lot of metallic.
Want to know more?
In my spare time, I enjoy nature adventures, spending time with my dog at the lake (hello land of 10,000 lakes), and daydreaming of all the places I want to visit some day.
What's my goal in life? To help people find joy in life. Art can bring you joy whether that is in the form of something on your walls or something you create on your own. That's what I'm here to do - I want you to find that spark... find what sets your soul on fire.
Thank you for taking the time to visit! I can't wait to connect with you and see your spark come alive.
